Instead of using scare tactics that work on small children like "where your seatbelt or pay the price", this country actually attempts to empower its citizens. It works! These people are great drivers. They all seem to actually know what it going on around them and their actions seem aimed at making the whole system work better. They let one another pass if a driver is going slower than the rest, they don't tailgate and they're happy. Even the road construction guys who hold the "Slow" sign smiles and wave as you pass.
I'm VERY excited to see some photos of where you are now - in Wood Buffalo. So few people get to visit this place in their entire lives! It is so totaly remote and difficult to get to. I can't wait to hear about it ... and the nesting of the whooping cranes.

That's funny about what you said about the construction workers......the other day I was actually driving "slow" and the sign holder got pissed off because I wasn't hurrying up!and no, he wasn't smiling either..go figure. Good old America....can't make our minds up. Too hot, too cold, fast, slow. What's a gal to do?
